Hispanic Heritage always begins with a poem, written and read by poet Rodrigo de la Luz. This second program features special guest Tobias Ostrander, Chief Curator of the Miami Art Museum, the leading art museum of Florida. Ostrander talks about his curating philosophy and the Hispanic artists now represented at the Miami Art Museum, among other topics. From 2001 to 2009 he served as the curator of contemporary art at Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo in Mexico City, where he developed an extensive program of international artists. Prior to his work in Mexico City, he served as associate curator for inSITE 2000, bi-national art project for San Diego, CA and Tijuana, Mexico.
