Interview with Manny Rodriguez, Vice President, FPL, and with Jorge Plasencia, Chairman and CEO, Republica, one of the most important advertising and PR agencies in the U.S.  Jorge is also the newly elected Chairman of La Raza.

Julián Linares interviews Hispanic Heritage co-host Dr. Aida Levitan.  They discuss Miami’s past image and how that negative image was transformed into a positive image.  They also discuss the achievements of former Mayor Maurice Ferre and interviews Alex Fumero, producer and author.

Machismo as a cultural characteristic is the theme of this program, with special guests Olga Connor, Cuban-American cultural journalist from El Nuevo Herald and Colombian-American author, and journalist Beatriz Parga, author of “El Macho Latino,” a novel and other books.  Dr. Aida Levitan and Rodrigo de la Luz interview these guests and also welcome, by phone, Ileana Fuentes, author and director of the Cuban Museum of Miami.

Julián Linares and Dr. Aida Levitan interview Rodolfo Martínez Sotomayor, with the participation of poet-artist Rodrigo de la Luz.  Martínez-Sotomayor is the author of numerous books and is also a respected editor in South Florida.  Tres Damaturgos, Tres Generaciones is his newest book, on playwrights from three different generations:  Matías Montes Huidobro; José Abreu-Felippe; and Ernesto García.

This program features poet Rodrigo de la Luz, Curator Rene Morales & artist George Sanchez Calderon.  Cuban-American poet Rodrigo de la Luz has published four poetry books.  Curator Rene Morales has organized excellent art exhibitions at the Miami Art Museum.  George Sanchez Calderon is a local Cuban-American artist whose work has recently appeared in Bal Harbour and at the Miami Art Museum New Works exhibition.

Ileana Fuentes, writer, activist, professor and director of the Cuban Museum of Miami, is interviewed by Dr. Aida Levitan and Julián Linares.   Also participating in this program is poet and artist Rodrigo de la Luz, as well as Alex Fumero, producer, writer and actor, who discusses A Very Merry Hialeah (Haikus) Christmas, a show to be held December 22 at the CCEMiami (Spanish Cultural Center).
