Pollo Punch

With the ArtesMiami sponsorship, Pollo Punch, an animated short film, was screened at the Miami Film Festival.  Pollo Punch is an animated short film,directed by Alec Castillo, a Cuban-American filmmaker who resides in Los Angeles. The film takes a spin onunderdog boxing genre films but with a cockfighting rooster in Miami amidst the backdrop of Cuban exile.

Pollo Punch has screened at the Miami Film Festival, LALIFF, New York Latino Film Festival, and won ‘Best International Animated Short’ at the Puerto Rico Film Festival. The film centers around a narcolepticpet rooster who never wakes up on time because he’s too busy dreaming of being the greatest boxer of all-time. But when he and his owner fall into tough times, he will finally get his chance to step into the ring. It’s Ratatouille meets RagingBull in this re-imagining of the Cuban-American story of coming to the United States.
