ArtesMiami Extended Application Deadline of Documentary Film Fund till April 15th, 2022

The 2022 ArtesMiami Documentary Film Fund offers support for innovative and captivating projects in documentary film. Applicants may submit their project at whatever stage for consideration. This year's eligibility is limited to filmmakers of Cuban descent, and non-Cuban individuals with projects about the Cuban diaspora. Awardees will receive up to $25,000 in three categories: Development, Production, or Post-Production/Finishing Funds. THE APPLICATION DEADLINE WAS EXTENDED TO APRIL 15, 2022.

The 2022 Artes Miami Film Fund was established on September 1st, 2021 by ArtesMiami, Inc., a nonprofit organization, with funding support from its President and founder, Aida Levitan, Ph.D. Levitan commented, "Documentaries have become an important entertainment and educational too. ArtesMiami wants to help filmmakers tell their story by providing these grants, with a special focus on the Cuban American experience." Filmmakers Alex Fumero and Kareem Tabsch are in charge of designing and executing this grants program. They are the creators of Mucho Mucho Amor: The Legend of Walter Mercado, recently nominated for an Emmy. Applications for this year's cycle are reviewed by leading filmmakers alongside board members of the organization. Information on how to apply will be posted in the near future on www.artesmiami.org.
